Have a question about respite (short & medium term accommodation)?

Who is eligible for respite?

NDIS-funded Short-Term Accommodation (STA) is available to participants whose plan includes Core Supports for respite or short stays. Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA) is available for participants who are waiting for longer-term housing (such as SIL) to become ready. Our team can help you check if respite is included in your current plan.

What does a typical day in respite look like?

Respite with us is participant-le, meaning your day is shaped around your interests, routines, and comfort. Whether it’s quiet time at home, trips into the community, or support with personal care and meals, we adapt the schedule to suit what works best for you during your stay.

What is the difference between MTA and STA?

STA is a short stay, typically up to 14 days, used for respite or a break from home. MTA provides transitional housing for up to 90 days while participants wait for longer-term options like SIL or home modifications. Both include accommodation and support, but serve different goals and timelines.

Can I choose where I stay during respite?

Yes. We’ll work with you to understand your needs, preferences, and goals, and then suggest the most suitable property. If you’d like a trial night, a tour, or to meet our team beforehand, we’re happy to arrange that too. Your comfort and fit always come first.

How do health professionals refer patients to your services?

Referrals can be made directly by support coordinators, GPs, case managers, or allied health professionals. Our intake team works closely with referrers to understand the participant’s goals, support needs, and preferences to ensure a smooth transition into services. Simply get in touch and we’ll guide the process.

How do you work with families and carers to keep them involved?

We work in partnership with families and carers every step of the way. From pre-stay planning and participant handovers through to regular updates during the stay, we keep communication open and transparent. You can trust that your loved one is safe, supported, and respected, and you’ll never be left out of the loop.

How can I get in touch to learn more or discuss my needs?

We’re just a phone call or message away. Whether you’re a participant, family member, or professional, our friendly team is here to answer your questions and walk you through the next steps. Use our enquiry form, give us a call, or request a tour.

How do I get started with accessing support through you?

Simply reach out to us! We’ll schedule an initial consultation to understand your needs, review your NDIS plan, and discuss the best services for you. From there, we’ll support you through the onboarding process to ensure a smooth and stress-free transition into care.
